Refinished Vintage 6 Legged Parlor Table

Image
Look what I found on the side of the road while walking the dog! A Vintage 6 legged Parlor Table.  Now, why would someone put this out?  All it needed some work and some new hardware.  This is something I love doing, Restoring, Rehabbing, Updating whatever you want to call it.  I love sanding and stripping a table to show the natural color and maybe painting to show off a pretty feature of it. Here is what I started with Here is the table after sanding the top layer.  What a difference! I took the top off and I sanded the middle bar. I had recently purchased Fusion Mineral Paint in Seaside and wanted to see how the legs would look in this color. One leg painted and I was hooked.   The legs were painted and the under the trim of the top was also.. then I decided that the middle bar and the top were going to be this pretty stain called Golden Pecan from Minwax. I did three coats of Golden Pecan stain, sanding lightly in between, and then a coat of Minwax...

Walking Down Memory Lane - my DIY Wine Cork Ball

Image
I have been looking to do a wine cork project for quite some time now. Well, I guess I haven't drunk enough wine in the past, because all of the arts and crafts ideas out there always called for more than I had. So they have been sitting in my dining room, just waiting for me. Walking Down Memory Lane ~ Enjoy!

Why I Created My DIY Tiered Jewelry Stand

Image
I was looking for a DIY crafts project to work on and I wanted to use a couple pieces of my grandmother’s china that she gave me years ago. The big question is going to be Why? Here’s why… I wanted to be able to see it and use it; more than sitting in my dining room cabinet. I think she would approve… It’s simple, it’s classy and it’s fancy I have this makeshift table set up in my garage and it’s a catch-all for summer projects.. you can see the beginning of my DIY Candleholder that I posted last week. Teacups (they will be added to my other tiered jewelry stand… I am looking for another set of candlesticks)

Upcycled Jewelry Display

Image
If you are interested in a great upcycle project, I hope this one gives you some inspiration.   What do you need?  an extra frame, cabinet door, extra scrap wood will work and you can design as you wish, the sky is the limit with what you can do. While I was working on my Refinished Entertainment Cente r project and trying to decide if I should keep the middle doors, I saw on Pinterest this Jewelry Display to hang on the wall. The decision was over, the doors were staying off and my sister was getting a present :)  I have two doors, so once this one is completed I might make someone else a present.  But for now, the 2nd one is sitting in the basement painted.

Refinished Cottage Style Entertainment Center

Image
. The Journey of the Cottage Style Entertainment Center I found this lovely piece on Craigslist and thought...It's free, Let's do this!! It was actually something similar to what I have refinished in the past, the Sofa Table  and in the end, it sorta went in that direction also. When I picked it up, the lady told me that it was a beautiful piece when they originally purchased it but that was before the children and the dog 🐶 Time to make it beautiful again with a little time and patience.

Upcycled Vintage Lamp Base

Image
Years ago my grandfather gave me several lamps that he had made many many years ago.  He told me to fix them up and sell them and that was my plan, but we know how plans are and that they don't always work out how we think they should. Sometimes they work out even better. The first two lamps bases were rewired, painted and sold as he requested.  The third I could not rewire, but I painted it and it eventually sold with the Wine Cork ball I made.

Vintage Side Table Refinished

Image
I saw this beautiful little vintage side table on Facebook Marketplace and knew I wanted it for my home.   It needed quite a bit of work.  It was wobbly, scratched up and in need of some serious love.  I hope you like what I did or if you have any questions please send me a message.  I'd love to hear from you.
