Upcycled Vintage Lamp Base
Years ago my grandfather gave me several lamps that he had made many many years ago. He told me to fix them up and sell them and that was my plan, but we know how plans are and that they don't always work out how we think they should. Sometimes they work out even better.
The first two lamps bases were rewired, painted and sold as he requested. The third I could not rewire, but I painted it and it eventually sold with the Wine Cork ball I made.
This last one was my fun lamp base, it is the painted black one in this photo below. the two matchings were also painted Black, the taller one was painted cream. The reason this last one I didn't rewire was because the hole in the top was extra wide. Maybe I could have figured out a way to make it work. But I like what I ended up doing and it's something I'm keeping as remembering my grandpap. This is what I also did with some of my grandma's china, check that project here.
The Original 4 |
- Fusion Mineral Paint
- E6000 Glue
- Cylinder Pillar Candle Holder
I really like using the E6000 Glue, it bonds to pretty much everything I am finding and it dries clear.
The wreath is a gift from many years ago and has always been a favorite. In the past, I had a small battery operated lights that were intertwined at the base. It just gave it a nice glow
My hope is by sharing this that you look at something simple and see how you can upcycle it and keep a memory of someone special close to you.
