DIY Pine Sachets

I've been making lavender sachets for the last couple of years and I find that they are in high demand, who doesn't love a fresh sachet for your car, or for your dresser drawers?

I never even thought of making pine sachets, but a friend was saying how much she loves the scent of pine and I thought.  hmm, why not make pine sachets for Christmas gifts?

So, since we went out in search for a Christmas tree this past weekend.  The whole day was filled with a delicious scent of fresh pine: my car, the house, and the tree farm.  It was one of those perfect Saturday mornings.  Big breakfast, Crisp country air, hiking in the field with snow on the ground to help walk off the breakfast and then watching someone else bring the tree out of the field. 😃

Here are the supplies that I needed to make DIY Pine Sachets:

1. Fresh cut pine branches
2. Muslin Favor Bags
3. Stamp
4. Ink Pad

Step 1:


Stamp the bags - I bought the muslin bags at Michaels and the stamps I found for a $1.99 at Joan Fabrics.

Step2:

I used one branch, took the needles off, and put in a glass bowl. 

If you remember, use gloves.  I didn't and had fingers with black stains on them from removing the needles.  If you forget, no big deal, it came off with soap and water.

Step 3:

Get a piece of paper to make a funnel and pour the needles into the favor bags, or do as I did and make a mess on the floor and just grab needles and stuff in the bag.

Step 4:

For a finishing touch.  Tie a small piece of pine to the top and tie with a piece of twine.

That's it!  Simple DIY Pine Sachets are done and ready to be given out a little Christmas spirit to pass around.
